This course builds on the learning from the Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice (FONP) course which covers breast, lung, colorectal and prostate cancer. FONP will be a prerequisite for this course. Foundations of Cancer Disease Sites will include sarcoma, GU, gynecological and CNS cancers. Within each specific disease site, there will be a review of fundamental information related to oncology nursing as well as a case study to consolidate learning through application.
Successful completion of Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice is required to register in this course.
The Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice course was originally developed for nurses, however it can now be taken by any health care professional working with individuals with cancer.
